Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale has sensationally claimed that he mentored opposition leader Raila Odinga's daughter Rosemary Odinga, who formally joined national politics on Saturday.
Ms. Odinga, 39, is set to battle for ODM nominations for Kibra constituency ahead of August's General elections.
And Khalwale, who introduced her to the Kibra residents, said he had closely mentored Ms. Odinga since her childhood.
"The lady you are seeing here is daughter to Raila Odinga. She is a good person because I have known her since her childhood," He told a huge gathering on Saturday.
"She is a self made leader but I am her political father. A very good student who will listen to you all the time and more importantly, a great farmer," he said.
Ms. Odinga was also endorsed by Homabay senator Otieno Kajwang and outspoken University of Nairobi student leader Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino.
