Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has advised the nation to prepare for new leadership after the 2022 general elections.
Speaking on A.M Live on Tuesday, the Ford Kenya Deputy Party Leader said that the union between his party boss and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart Musalia Mudavadi will surely deliver a winner in the contest.
He said that the two are sure of a victory in the race and have since embarked on creating plans to correct the mistakes that have been made by the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee regime.
''Mudavadi and Wetangula are headed for the top post and its only then that this nation will experience a uniform and equal development. Th country will settle after thy take over in 2022 because they come from the marginalized section of the nation and are aware of the pain that comes with being sidelined on matters development,'' he said.
In a quick rejoinder, however, former Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe poked holes into the formation terming it as a tribal front that risks not making any remarkable achievement.
He took issue with the duo's Luhya Unity campaign, accusing them of propagating negative ethnicity.
''It is good for the leaders to unite and combine their ideas but they have to cease terming their unity as a union for the sake of the Luhya community. There is need for the realization of a policy based politics and eradication of tribal chiefs for the nation to prosper,'' he said.
