Kakamega Senator Bonnie Khalwale has cautioned Jubilee Party to be ready for turbulent political times following the defection of Onyango Oloo to the ODM.
According to Khalwale, the former TNA secretary general was the face of the party in the Nyanza and Western regions and that the Uhuru-led party should have a reason to worry.
Speaking during a morning show on a local TV station, Khalwale said Onyango Oloo has moved with key Jubilee Party figures from his Kakamega County and that it will be hard for the President to get votes from the region.
The outspoken Senator said the emerging murmurs of disquiet in the JP exposes the undercurrents that run deep within the outfit following claims that Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko could also be planning to bolt out as the choice the Nairobi gubernatorial candidate threatens to break the party.
However, he said Raila doesn't need Oloo to win votes as his impact in Raila's presidential bid is almost inconsequential as the former premier already enjoys a huge following in the region.
However, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi downplayed Oloo's defection as inconsequential saying that the politician had not occupied any political seat to influence the outcome of the August polls.
