Former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale has landed in trouble after a post he made over the killing of a bodaboda rider.
Khalwale steered a storm on social media after he tweeted showing support for the lynching of the rider.
His graphic tweet displayed a man half burnt after he was set ablaze for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
"This thug came to Malinya & robbed a bodaboda rider of his motor bike. Unfortunately he forgot that this's the land of bullfighters!" read his tweet.
But a section of his followers were quick to criticise the former legislator as they accused him of supporting lawlessness yet he served in a parliament that made the same laws.
Others said that not even in the worst civilisations do people kill those they think to be criminals.
"Why do we advocate for justice & still go for mob justice in the name of “bull fighters” land. There are bull fighters who wouldn’t do this," said a follower, Joy Doreen BIIRA.
