Former Kakamega Senator Dr.Boni Khalwale has broken the silence after reports published by a local daily indicated that there were plans to have Mudavadi-Wetangula's party merge.
The former Ikolomani legislator has disputed the reports disclosing that issues regarding the merger of ANC and Ford Kenya lie with their leaders, Musalia Mudavadi and Senator Moses Wetangula.
Khalwale took on his twitter account where he urged Kenyans on the reports, terming them as fake news. He added that the decision on the merger lies only on the party members and organs.
"May all our members ignore, with full contempt, the fake news in today's @dailynation that I've announced the leader of the FORD Kenya/ANC merger party. That decision lies only with the party members & organs, provided that @Wetangulam & @MusaliaMudavadi have the final say,"the tweet read.
Earlier the two parties have indicated they could soon merge in preparation for the next general elections.T he major reason was to address mistreatment by their previous political partners.
This comes after a fallout that occurred in NASA after Mr Wetang’ula was stripped off his Senate minority leader seat in favor of Siaya Senator James Orengo of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), led by Raila Odinga. Two MPs from Western region, led by Eseli Simiyu (Tongaren, Ford Kenya) and Ayub Savula (Lugari, ANC) have in the past said that they had agreed to push for a united front.
