Fire brand senator Bonny Khalwale now wants NASA leader Raila Odinga to desist from meddling in local politics and instead concentrate on presidential elections.
On Saturday, Odinga urged his supporters to elect ODM candidates in August elections adding that the party would become extinct if supporters fail to elect their ‘own’ members.
But in a quick rejoinder, the Kakamega senator termed Odinga’s sentiments as misleading and warned him against meddling in local politics.
“As a senior Luhya politician, I urge you Luhya people, elect Odinga on August and kick Uhuru Kenyatta out,” said Khalwale who also doubles as Ford Kenya deputy party leader.
He added: “Odinga should be satisfied with NASA presidential flag bearer and stop imposing MCAs, MPs and Governors on people. He should allow people to choose their preferred leaders.”
The NASA coalition comprises of ODM, Ford Kenya, ANC, Wiper and Isaac Rutto’s Chama Cha Mashinani which would take Deputy Premier Secretary Position should the coalition win.
Khalwale will wrestle with Raila Odinga’s deputy in ODM Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who recently urged the firebrand senator to step down and support his candidature.
