Kakamega Senator Boni Kalwale now says the outgoing Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) commissioners should be jailed for breaching the law.
Khalwale who was speaking during NTV's AMLive show on Tuesday said he was surprised that the commissioners who understand the law still insist on staying in office.
"We don't have IEBC commissioners as we speak, these masqueraders that you are seeing, actually, should be arrested and charged with impersonation. I am ashamed that all of them are top lawyers who should not be doing what they are doing," he said.
The vocal Senator insisted that even though there was no agreement to send the IEBC secretariat home they are not allowed to pick information from the outgoing IEBC commissioners saying that all the activities being carried out by the secretariat were illegal.
"All the instructions and tenders and reviews that have taken place in the IEBC are all illegal because the secretariat should take directions from the commissioners," he said.
"The decision we made was that the secretariat does not go home, that is a decision we left for the new IEBC commissioners to decide whether to retain them or not," he added.
