Khalwale questioned why the programmes has taken long to implement.

He said the programme had been turned political and a campaign tool for the 2017 general election.

Khalwale who was being interviewed at a local television station asked why the Jubilee administration wants to begin the laptops' distribution one year before an election is conducted.

During the 2013 presidential campaigns, Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto had promised to deliver the laptops immediately after winning the election.

In the project, all class one pupils in the country are supposed to receive the machines.

Controversies have however, dogged the project delaying its implementation.
