Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has said Siaya Senator James Orengo has vanished from the public scene after the famous 'golden' handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga took place at Harambee House Nairobi.
Khalwale said on Monday that Orengo has been inactive politically asking how the union between Uhuru and Raila may have affected the former Ugenya MP.
"My brother James Orengo, long time no see! By the way, it is exactly 30 days today since that surprise handshake," Khalwale said on Twitter.
Orengo, a close ally of Raila and a key lawyer to the NASA coalition assisted overturn Uhuru's win at the Supreme Court after the August 8 general election.
The nullification of Uhuru's win made Orengo so popular that some Kenyans referred to him as "a moving Constitution".
He has also been at the forefront championing for the recognition of individual human rights in the country. He has been at the centre of the quest for the return of NRM leader Miguna Miguna to the country.
Khalwale is among leaders who wholly opposed the meeting between Uhuru and Raila. Orengo supported the meeting.
He claims the meeting between the two leaders will not benefit Kenyans as Raila has his own plans with Uhuru, Kenya's fourth president.
