Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale on Friday visited Kisumu County and addressed the locals.
In a tweet, the former Senator noted that the residents gave him an extraordinary reception, and cheered him when he addressed the issue of the handshake and embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna.
"Entered Kisumu today to an extraordinary rousing reception with cheering, after I told them that the handshake is meaningless if Miguna is not allowed unconditional return, and the families of Chris Msando et al are not compensated immediately. Thank you Kisumu folks, " Khalwale tweeted.
His message comes barely a week after Miguna canceled his planned return to the country.
In a statement posted on his social media pages, the vocal lawyer noted that he postponed his trip because the government had not provided him with travel documents to facilitate his return.
He, however, promised to announce a new date when Kenyans should expect him back to the country.
