Ramaphosa who is the ANC party leader was Zuma's deputy. Zuma resigned after he was linked to various corruption scandals.
Khalwale said there was a wind of political change in Africa, especially after Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn submitted his resignation in a televised announcement on Thursday amid political turmoil in the country, which is one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies.
The announcement came just after the government released hundreds of political prisoners, including some of the most prominent opposition members in the country, sparking massive celebrations in the cities and towns around the country.
The former senator also cited Liberia which had a new President - George Weah, in a recent election and Zimbabwe where Robert Mugabe resigned after years of dictatorial rule.
Citing Kenya, Khalwale said Kenyans were also awaiting the wind of change, by seeing the ruling Jubilee government out of power.
"As I join in congratulating Cyril Ramaphosa for ascending to the presidency, I happily note the strong wind of change blowing across Africa. From Liberia to Zimbabwe to S. Africa and to Ethiopia. Only God knows when ours is coming here in Kenya! How we wish!" said Khalwale on Thursday evening.
