Ford-Kenya Deputy Party leader, Bony Khalwale on Tuesday said that Gideon Moi should not be forced on Kenyans by the dynasty families.
Khalwale was reacting to the meetings Raila have had with the Moi and Kibaki families.
These meetings come after Raila decided to bury the hatchet with his longtime political protagonist, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to the former Kakamega senator who was speaking during an NTV show, it is time Kenyans got a different president away from the line of this country"s dynasties.
While not disputing the fact that Gideon Moi could become the country's next president, he called on the dynasties to avoid forcing Moi's son on 47 million Kenyans.
"There is nothing wrong with Gideon Moi becoming president but he should not be forced upon us by these families," said Mr. Khalwale.
Jitters have been raised by DP Ruto's camp over the current handshakes the former prime minister has been holding.
If the current handshakes are anything to go by, then Uhuru is likely to by-pass his Deputy President William Ruto, for Gideon Moi.
However, it is still unclear to many the motivation of the handshakes and politicians have been left speculating on the whole issue.
Despite many seeing it as a warm up to Gideon Moi's presidency, some also reason that it could be basically geared to making the referendum a success before 2022 general elections.
