Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has cautioned Kajiado County residents against voting former Interior CS Joseph Ole Lenku who is gunning for the county's governorship seat in the next general elections.
Speaking on Sunday in Kitengela when Opposition alliance NASA led a political rally in the area, Khalwale argued that Ole Lenku was a complete failure who had been sacked as Cabinet Secretary and therefore cannot be trusted to lead the County.
“That former CS is a complete failure and has no place to fit in Kajiado politics. He will plunder the county’s resources if elected the way the Jubilee government has messed up the economy of this country,” the Star quoted him.
Ole Lenku seeks to unseat the incumbent governor David Nkedianye on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Ndekianye was elected on an ODM Party ticket during the 2013 general elections.
Ole Lenku was sacked in 2014 after serving 20 months, following a series of insecurity incidences often from terror group Alshabaab.
