Former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to admit that the October 26 presidential re-run was a shambolic exercise.
Speaking during a rally organized by the opposition NASA brigade at in Nairobi on Sunday, Khalwale urged President Uhuru to demonstrate his love for the nation by preventing it from undergoing a long process of unseating him should he be pronounced legally elected by the Supreme Court upon the completion of the petitions challenging his win.
He, therefore, advised the President to disassociate himself with the election and refuse to be sworn in for his second term.
''Uhuru should admit that the election was unfair and refuse to be sworn in,'' said Khalwale.
His comments were echoed by Siaya senator and the alliance lead lawyer James Orengo who further cautioned the president that his presidency if upheld, will be short-lived.
''We have since proposed the formation of peoples assemblies which will force the current regime to legally leave power by use of people's sovereign power should it refuse to listen to our demands,'' said Orengo.
