Bull fighting is one of the common sports practiced in the western region especially Kakamega county. Most political leaders from western are known to lead such occasions that occurs twice or thrice a year.
One of the common political leaders know for organising such games is the former Ikolomani MP Boni Khalwale, he organises bull fighting from group stages till the final match.
Not much is known about the game in Kenya since it only takes place in one county in the nation, Kakamega. Residents invest in bulls and feed them as they await the fighting day.
Khalwale, as an organizer also has his bulls that also takes place in the event, he has three bulls that participate in the event.
Among the three is one of his huge bull known as 'Messi', a mighty bull that has never lost a match for couple of years.
Before the match, all residents with bulls place bets with an opponent and the one whose bull wins have all the money, the same happens in group stages as they approach finals.
Messi, Khalwale's bull has never missed a single final in the past recent, any resident whose bull meets Khalwale's is always a sure looser and the former MP has remained the best.
Talking to a resident whose bull lost to Messi he said "As participants, we are looking forward defeat Khalwale soon, he has never lost but the trend has to change."
