On Tuesday, Khalwale issued the below message targeting the Luhya community:

"Baana beruu, the debate on the future of our country is underway. We must all recognize that ours is now the most populous community in Kenya (standing at a population of 7 million people plus) which will be the single largest single voting block in 2022.

As such every presidential wannabe is salivating for our votes. Firm plans have been put in place complete with millions of shillings to scatter us.

Some of our local leaders will be financed in this scheme either to offer support roles to non Baluhyia candidates or even purport to offer themselves for election for president or be vying for position of governors purely as spoilers.

The endgame is to render the presidential ambitions of Musalia Mudavadi & Moses Wetangula as stillborn. I appeal to all of u not to succumb to the above machinations. With our numerical strength we can't afford to sell ourselves short.

Am currently at the heart of a great ambitious initiative for ua sake, the sake of ua children & the sake of Kenya. How ever much u are tempted to hate us, tempted to disapprove of us, tempted to belittle what we are doing, please just give us this one chance and stand with us khutsi baana benyu Musalia, Wetangula and Khalwale.

We have the experience, intellectual capacity & wherewithal to stand up to the best and beat them.

Imagine if one of our own is the head of state. Just imagine!

Bwami ni miantu/Bwami kimiantu!

I stand with Musalia & Wetangula. For now they are the ones we have.

Dr Boni Khalwale."
