Just hours after lawyer Karim Khan won the case against the ICC where he was defending Deputy President, William Ruto, Khan now wants Luis Ocampo to be probed for a failed job.
On Wednesday, Khan said that Ocampo should be investigated for wrongly inducting six Kenyans at The Hague. He said the office of the prosecutor (OTP) should also be investigated for making six Kenyans face trials at the world’s most feared court.
‘‘Ocampo has a case to answer together with the OTP. He should say why he rushed to name six Kenyans, including President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto yet they all walked away freely. It means they were all innocent,’’ said Khan.
He spoke while addressing the press in Nairobi on Wednesday.
‘‘There must be a professional inquiry of why the process failed. I can assure you that this case failed because the case from the start was fundamentally flawed. Judges did their part. They decided based on the evidence presented. Ocampo should, therefore, explain why he did such shoddy work,’’ he said.
