Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala has reportedly agreed to work with Machakos gubernatorial hopeful Wavinya Ndeti ahead of the August polls.
Kiala lost the Wiper Party ticket to Ndeti during the primaries.
He contested the results leading to a repeat of the primaries in the county where he lost again to Ndeti.
Kiala consequently resigned from Wiper Party, accusing the outfit's top leadership of frustrating his bid.
But speaking on Friday last week, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr confirmed that Kiala could be on his way back to Wiper.
The outspoken legislator announced that he had been charged with the responsibility of wooing Kiala back to the fold, with a view of making him the next Machakos County Assembly Speaker.
“The Wiper Party leader sent me to talk to Kiala and I want to say it here that I have already met him and he has agreed to work with Wavinya and [her running mate Peter] Mathuki. And since we do not want his cup empty, Wiper will propose him to be the speaker to the assembly,” Kilonzo said.
Kiala is, however, yet to confirm the offer.
