Speaking on Tuesday at Guchi Village, Muchatha Ward, in Kiambaa constituency, Kiambu County the residents said that over 15 cows have been stolen in a spun of two weeks.

“We have lost 15 cows in less than two weeks,” said Monica wangari, a farmer who has lost four cows to thieves.

“I was relying on the cows to support my family and to pay school fees. Now I've been left with nothing to support my family,” said Wangari.

Amos Ngagi a farmer at Muchatha claims that the gangs terrorizing residents are working in cahoots with local youth to perpetrate the vice.

“These are well executed criminal activities being conducted by local youth and outsiders,” said Njagi.

The residents urged the provincial administration to step up effort in the fight against the vice.

“The provincial administration should increase its effort and deal ruthlessly with the cattle thieves,” added Ngagi.

The residents urged the county government to come up with strategies to help address the issues affecting the youths.

“We know that our youth are behind these crimes and we urge the county government to create employment opportunities for the youth,” added Ngagi.
