Simon Nderitu, a resident in the area told this writer at the scene that the charcoal burning had affected them for a while as the burners ignored their complaints since they do not live anywhere near their workplace, hence not affected by the same.

“I have been chocked severally by the gas from charcoal burning from this place, I can no longer wait to see my health deteriorating due to the ignorance of another,” said Nderitu.

Another area resident Jared Kamau said that he had enough of these charcoal burners ignoring their pleas add the will not allow them to endanger their lives.

The charcoal burners watched the protestors helplessly as they destroyed their beds of charcoal since they were outnumbered by those angry protestors.

The residents later dispersed having promised to return if the charcoal burning businessmen will continue threatening their health.

Those residents appealed to the relevant authority to come to their rescue before the situation affects their health further saying that they could not pay medical bills for a condition inflicted by some people.
