Kiambu bar owners have asked the government to help them streamline security in their premises.
Speaking to journalists at Kiambu town on Friday, County Bar Owners Association chairman Richard Kagiri appealed to the government to deploy police officers to their premises.
The chairman observed that their security and that of their consumers must be guaranteed.
“In the wake of terror attacks in some parts of the country, the government must help us streamline security,” said Kagiri.
The chairman said, “Though we have put in place some measures to guarantee security, the government should deploy police officers to conduct more surveillance.”
Kagiri said bar owners in Kiambu will work and support the government in efforts to tame crime and terror.
He said that crime and terrorism threatens socio-economic development hence need for every stakeholder to join hands in taming it out.
Meanwhile, the bar owners chairman wants members to pay their levies on time to enable the association run its activities effectively.
He cautioned members who delay or fail to remit their fees saying disciplinary action will be taken against them.
