Most bars in Kiambu county remained closed by Thursday evening following Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Waititu order.
This is as Waititu ordered the closure of all beer, wines and spirit clubs asking them to register afresh.
The club owners decided to shut down their businesses to avoid commotions with the undercover police officers on patrol.
Waititu has stepped up the fight following the same crackdown when he was Kabete MP in the first tenure of president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The governor has left club owners, wines and spirit distributors in a puzzle after ordering the ban of all licences in the county.
He has promised to regulate the number of clubs in the area to reduce alcohol consumption which will be a big blow to the many alcohol sellers in the area.
Talking to one of the club owners in Makongeni ,Chrome outlet distributors said that this will be a step back to the many relying on the business."The governor's move on this is quite discouraging as a businessman.
This will be a big blow to us and the rest of the county. We hope that the Kiambu business community will intervene,"he said.
This will be a unique law in one out of the many counties, Kiambu being an example of what the fight of alcohol means.
Since 2014 Waititu has strongly fought illicit brews and alcohols which now seems to be working well in his county.
