Kiambu based gospel musician Shiru Wa GP has urged youths in the county to shun alcohol and drug abuse.

Speaking at the Ndumberi grounds on Saturday during a Family and Fun day organised by the Kiambu constituency, the gospel musician appealed to the youths to stay off drugs saying that it will ruin their lives.

The musician observed that lives of many promising young people have been ruined by drug and substance abuse.

“Young people should understand that drug abuse will never be a solution to the problems they face and must therefore keep off from it,” she said.

The musician said that the future of young people in the county is doomed if the issue of drug abuse is not addressed. She further called for collaborative efforts in the fight against drug abuse. 

“It is time we worked together towards eliminating drug abuse in Kiambu and other areas as well,” she said.

The musician at the same time called for job creation for the youth saying that it will help to curb drug abuse. She additionally urged youths to discover their talents saying that it can help them earn decent income.

The gospel singer who entertained crowds that attended the event also called for unity among Kenyans.
