Kiambu town police boss Peter Nge’tich has urged boda boda riders in the area to exercise discipline and adhere to regulations pertaining to the industry.
Speaking when he addressed boda boda riders in Kiambu town on Sunday, Ng’etich observed that some rogue operators are tainting the image of the sector.
The police boss noted that his office has been getting complaints from the public over indiscipline acts perpetuated by some operators against their customers.
Ng’etich said investigations have been launched to establish the truth of the allegations and that action will be taken against indiscipline operators.
“For your business and work to be effective you must respect yourselves, your colleagues and your customers, my office will not hesitate to deal with indiscipline operators,” warned Ng’etich.
The police boss further warned boda boda riders against colluding with criminals and thugs.
He said those found to be colluding with criminals will be arrested, charged in court and their licenses revoked.
Ng’etich urged the boda boda operators to instead cooperate and work with the law enforcers to boost security.
He said that the boda boda sector is growing steadily and that it will be good if operators adhere to the laid out regulations.
