Kibichoi bodaboda operators have repaired Kibichoi-Gathugu road to facilitate smooth ferrying of customers.
Speaking today at Kibichoi Shopping Centre, in Komothai Ward, Githunguri sub-county, Nelson Kimani, the chair of Kibichoi Riders Association (KRA) faulted the county government of Kiambu for failing to address the challenges facing the plight of the bodaboda industry especially the rehabilitation of rural road networks .
“The poor state of Kibichoi-Gathugu road has been a thorn in our flesh. We have been spending huge amount of money to repair our motor cycles. Bodaboda operators are suffering due to poor state of roads in Kibichoi Location,” said Kimani.
He said that they volunteered to repair some sections of the road that were posing risks to riders.
“We can’t wait for an accident to happen so that action can be taken,” said Kimani.
Kimani urged the county government of Kiambu to use the money it collects from bodaboda operators to repair roads.
He however urged fellow riders to pay license fees to county government to enable it undertake infrastructural projects.
