Kiambu County deputy governor has urged area bodaboda operators to maintain the shades provided by the county government. Speaking at Ndumberi chief’s camp today, Gerald Githinji called upon bodaboda operators to maintain the property that they have been facilitated with.
He said that in the recent past, some shades had been vandalised and needed repair. He added that the county government is working for the whole county and vandalising what they already have means that money set aside for other projects will be used to repair the shades. Githinji further said that the shades were meant for the bodaboda operators and other people doing businesses inside the shades are not supposed to be there.
He called upon bodaboda saccos to ensure that those shades are well maintained and used appropriately. ‘I want to urge all bodaboda operators to ensure they are in the frontline to ensure the shades are well maintained. Before the shades were constructed, you didn’t have any other place but the county government has ensured you have been part of the project and therefore you should ensure the shades are well maintained for many years to come,” he said. Githinji further said that all facilities that are provided by the county government should be maintained for the benefit of other residents in the region.
