The Kiambu Business Community has threatened to initiate a motion to impeaceh Governor Ferdinand Waititu over the ongoing crack down on illicit brews.

Led by Kiambu Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCI) Chairperson, Thinguri Warwathe , the business community claims that the alcoholic laws passed by the county  assembly two weeks ago is 'killing' innocent businesses.

Speaking to journalists in Ndumberi , Kiambu on Monday, the business community said that they have initiated a process to get one million signature's  to send Waititu packing.

The business community claimed that governor Waititu's policies are bad for the economy in as much as the county wants to put an end to illicit brews and alcoholic drinks.

"Governor Waititu failed to consult us in creation of these policies and we are giving him one week to stop harassing innocent people or he should prepare to go home," he as quoted by a local daily.

Warwathe said innocent bar operators are being targeted in the ongoing crackdown.

Last week bar owners in Thika alleged that some of the people leading the crackdown on illicit brews are demanding bribes.

The bar owners accused Governor Waititu of targeting to finish their business in the name of fighting illicit brews.

Last week, Governor Waititu orderd closure of all bars asking owners to seek license's afresh.

The governor said that his adminstration will not spare anyone contravening the alocholic regulations.

Waititu says that the crackdown on illicit brews will continue across the county.

On Friday last week, Kiambu County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga issued stern warning to local chief's and goverment official's allegedly colluding with illicit brewers.

Wanyanga said that those found colluding with brewers  will be sacked, arrested and charged in court.
