The CID boss said that police are going on with the search but said they are counting on the public for information.

Speaking when he toured the scene of crime yesterday, Mr Ngui said investigations are on top gear.

“We are on top of things and at the same time following on crucial leads that will help us rescue the MCA,” he said.

The CID boss noted that they are working on a 24 hour basis to rescue the MCA who was allegedly kidnapped on Saturday night.

The MCA is said to have been kidnapped shortly after he left his house to withdraw money from a local ATM.

The alleged kidnap of the MCA has seen raised concerns on the security of ward administrators.

Several MCAs have since asked the government to provide guns to them to boost their safety.
