Gatundu South deputy sub county commissioner Julius Ngumo has challenged youths in the area to take part in activities that will foster development.

Addressing the media at his office on Saturday, the deputy commissioner said that young people have a lot of skills which they should use to spur development.

He said that the government has recognized the role of young people in development adding that various programmes have been initiated to empower them.

“I want to appeal to our youths to work with us as we strive to promote development,: he said.

The deputy commissioner cautioned youths against engaging in unlawful activities saying that they will ruin their future.

He added that youths are tomorrow’s leaders and that they should be nurtured in th right direction.

Mr Ngumo said that the sub county has put in place measures and programmes that aims at empowering the youth.

The deputy commissioner further urged the youths to partner with the police in order tame crime in the area.

He said that crime cases have risen up and called on the youths and the general public to team up with law enforcers so as to curb crime.
