Kiambu County Commissioner Esther Maina has lauded police and security official’s efforts in maintaining law and order.
Speaking to the press in her office on Saturday, the Commissioner said that security officials are dedicated to ensure safety of residents adding that crime rate has reduce, thanks to the efforts of men and women in uniform.
“I am happy with what we have achieved so far on matters touching security and we want to promise locals that their safety is guaranteed,” assured Commissioner Maina.
She said that more security measures are being formulated in order to completely fight against crime. She added that security of locals and business people is important.
Maina who assured the area residents that the security personnel will remain committed to their work, also urged the public to continue collaborating with the police as they aim to fight criminals.
She directed security officials at sub-county levels to crack the whip on criminals and ensure that their area is no-go-zone for criminal.
She said the county government will work closely with the national government on matters touching security. The Commissioner on the same note directed Chiefs at grass root levels to continue the fight against illicit brew.
Commissioner Maina observed that cases of illicit brewing have resurfaced and that Chiefs and other local administrators must act immediately.
