Newly posted Kiambu County Commissioner Mr Alex Ole Nkoyo has urged local leaders to cooperate and work as a team for the sake of the county’s faster development.

Speaking on Tuesday after reading the President’s Speech to mark this year’s Mashujaa Day, the officer thanked local people for welcoming him to the county and pledged he would work with all development stakeholders.

He said it was important that leaders especially in counties like Kiambu should desist from leadership squabbles and concentrate on improving living standards.

The county commissioner noted that Kiambu was endowed with resources that if well managed could transform the region to become as economically viable as other parts of the country.

The governor Mr William Kabogo, in the same event, outlined his government’s plans to boost the local economy by starting new water projects and expanding the existing ones.

He commended the patriotic spirit shown by Maumau war veterans when they fought for the nation’s freedom and said his government will continue respecting them for their sacrifice.

He, however, insisted that Kiambu County must stand united at all times to fight the poverty and other challenges facing the members of public.
