Kiambu County Commissioner Esther Maina has threatened to sack corrupt police officers who have been harassing residents and business people.
Maina, while addressing journalists in her office following a public outcry of police harassments in various parts of the county, said that rogue and errant officers will be forced to go home.
The Administration Police have been on the spotlight for soliciting bribes from almost everyone including market traders, kiosk owners, bodaboda riders, bars, and innocent citizens going home early in the night.
"I will have a meeting with the county commanders of both regular and administration police and the county security committee so that we can have some of the errant officers disciplined. They are of no use to the public and I would not even recommend their transfer," Maina said.
Maina also apologised to the citizenry that have fallen victim to the rogue officers saying that their time of reckoning is near.
"Police are supposed to conduct security patrols not to harass and solicit bribes from people," she added.
