The clinic, Githurai-Langata community life centre, is fully equipped with all necessary equipment from Philips for quality health care.

Speaking during the launch of the clinic in an event graced by the Cabinet Secretary for health James Macharia, the governor revealed his commitment to the county’s healthcare policies.

“Kiambu County has a mortality rate of 40 per 1,000 live births while the maternal mortality rate is 230 per 100,000 deliveries. This is much lower than the national average but we can do better to ensure that all preventable deaths are avoided. The facility brings health services closer home and so it is expected to do better,” an elated Kabogo said.

He added that that since the inception of the project in June this year, the facility has delivered 70 babies and had only made two referrals to the Ruiru District Hospital.

Kabogo added that the county was set on building a maternity theatre at the centre which offers comprehensive primary health care including maternity and new-born healthcare.

The clinic is located in Githurai within Kiambu County.
