The National Council for People Living with Disabilities Chairman David Ole Sankok has lauded Kiambu County Government for supporting People Living With Disability (PLWD).
Speaking during the launch of Education, Infrastructure and Empowerment of the Disabled children, at Joy town school of disabled, Sankok said that the county has supported the group in all the activities including tender offering.
He added that the county has stood as an example and urged other counties to emulate Kiambu.
He encouraged the disabled persons in the county to feel free and seek services from the government as he is sure Kabogo’s leadership is free and transparent to everyone.
Sankok said that the government recognises the rights of disabled persons and has put in place appropriate policies to cater for their welfare.
He further asked the disabled persons to form groups and seek tenders from the county government through the NCPLWDs as they are in good terms with the county government of Kiambu.
Speaking in the same forum Kabogo said that the county government has re-placed an advert on the tender notice for the renovation of the roads where no disabled person applied and he has decided to give them time to apply.
