Kiambu County Youth Director Marie Mugo has affirmed that the county government is working together with youth centres in a bid to nurture talents.
Mugo said the exercise has already kicked off at Lari, Kabete, Kikuyu, Ruiru, Juja and Kiambu Constituencies.
The programme dubbed Iko talent has already produce 1200 youths.
“Through humongous plans and strategies formulated and funded by the county government, youths across the 12 constituencies will get a chance to showcase their talents and consequently get the help they need to grow,” said Mugo.
Mugo said that most youths have an amazing talents and if nurtured will build an amazing generation.
“We thank the county government for the support accorded. We are also in the process of setting up a recording studio to enable production for those with talents like singing, performing arts, theatrical performances and others,” said Mugo.
Mugo said the third and fourth editions will cover the remaining six sub-counties to identify and promote these talents through holistic support.
“We cannot watch these talents go to drain. It is an alternative way to create employment as well as showing appreciation to these youthful talents,” notes Mugo.
