The governor expressed his concerns over increased number of crimes in the county blaming police officers who sleep on their jobs citing the recent attack of the late Kabete Member of Parliament George Muchai.

Kabogo who was speaking on Monday when he visited Muchai’s family in Kabete said that he will not stop until he makes sure the police in the county have been reshuffled and those who sleep on their job be relieved of their duties.

“The police in Kiambu who sleep on their jobs should pack and go or be serious since soon we will launch a crackdown to reshuffle them,” declared the governor.

Kabogo revealed that the Police land rover which, he claimed only knows how to harass the residents demanding for money will be filtered and be stopped from tarnishing Kiambu police as a whole.

He added that in partnership with Kiambu County Police Commandant James Mugera they will try to identify sub-counties with increased number of crimes and reshuffle the police at the station and bring changes in the area.

He said that if the police were in patrol, crimes and drug abuse in the area will be a thing in the past and the county would be moving forward to other developments and investors would invest more in the area.

“If only police were vigilant in their work, cases of murder, drug abuse and robbery will be something we are not discussing now, but developments of the county,” said Kabogo.

He however urged the residents to remain calm as the police investigate the assassination of the Kabete MP promising that the perpetrators they will be brought to books.
