The World Bank has donated Sh200 million to oversee installation of over 50 floodlights in Kiambu, Chief county electrical officer Tom Kange’the has revealed.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Kange’the said that the floodlights will be installed in all wards across the county.
He further added that the lights will help curb rising cases of insecurity in several parts of the county.
“We have received Sh200 million from the World Bank and other partners to install floodlights in Kiambu,” said Kang’ethe.
The official said that the installation will commence soon, adding that more funds are available to install CCTV cameras.
He indicated that the county government is committed to improve infrastructure development stating that every part of the county tends to benefit from development projects.
“We are focused to ensure that every ward benefits from development programmes such as this,” added Kang’ethe.
He however cautioned residents against vandalizing already installed infrastructures like road signs.
