Kiambu County will produce two movies by March next year if plans by area movie directors and actors runs successfully.

According to John Kioko, a local actor based in USA, the county has potential an if actors and actresses join hands; the industry will grow to be a big success.

Speaking on Saturday during the Thika Business Association (TBDA), Kioko said there is great talent in the area and he has come to explore it and make sure they have produced two movies by next year.

Kioko, the producer of the movie 'Love and Deceit' urged the actors and actresses to register with him to produce the movies before he leaves, saying it can help them grow in the industry.

The producer said that he has established an academy to promote young talents not only in Kiambu, but also the nation at large to nurture talents that go to waste.

“Kiambu has talent, and that is why I will establish an academy to nature young people whose talent do not erupt by the time I leave in March next year,” Kioko said.

“Kenyans can do better than Nollywood if only we are determined to achieve what it takes to be an actor or actress,” he added

Kioko added that even musicians and models are invited in the academy, and called on for any young talent out there willing to participate to come out and try.

Kioko commended Waweru Nderitu, the Chairman of (TDBA) for a job well done in Thika and urged the residents to create employment and should not wait to be employed.

He expressed his concerns for unemployed youths who indulge in crimes and drug abuse, terming it as uncouth and idle minds.

He promised to sponsor Mr and Miss Thika town 2015 to further promote individual talent.
