Kiambu County government has announced plans to spend a whooping Sh160 million to construct a lounge and 2 canteens for the MCAs in the 2018/2019 financial year.
The county will also spend Sh105 million to construct and equip Kiambu County’s speaker residence.
MCA Daniel Ngure who is the House Finance committee chairman on Wednesday while tabling the report at the Assembly said that county executive in charge of finance agreed to allocate Sh55 million for the speaker’s residence and Sh50 million will be released in the subsequent budgets.
County assembly service board chaired by the speaker Stephen Ndicho proposed that 1 acre of land will be bought for the construction of the speaker’s official residence.
Two canteens will be constructed one for the MCAs and the other for the staff at a cost of Sh80 million and a lounge worth Sh80 million will be constructed for the members.
