After the ban on illicit brews in Kiambu County Miraa sellers have taken advantage with what they are calling option 'B'.
At most cases beer addicts use miraa during their leisure time to balance the momentum while away from alcohol.
Makongeni miraa sellers are now taking advantage of the liqour ban and purchasing more miraa to sell to the beer hunger-stricken addicts.
James Njeru one of the miraa sellers on Wednesday said that Governor Ferdinand Waititu had done the greatest favour to the unrecognized miraa sellers by increasing their customers.
"Waititu has remembered us though indirectly. Our customers have doubled after the shut down of many liquor depots. He may not recognize it but we are glad,"he said.
This may continue for some time before several beer outlets get licensed in the area.
More bags of Miraas can now be seen coming in every morning in Makongeni and Kiganjo areas to satisfy beer-thirst DDO's
The fight against illicit beer may get tough after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi visited Kiambu county and assured residents that the fight against illegal brews had just began.
