Farmers in Kiambu county will now benefit this season from a partnership between the county government and East Africa Breweries Limited.
Led by Kiambu Deputy Governor James Nyoro, representatives from EABL, BIDCO and Mahindra Agribusiness supported by AGRA held talks on Thursday on how to implement the multi-million farming project.
The crops to be included in this project include sorghum for malting, soya beans, sugar beet, key pulses such as green gram, pigeon peas and sunflower among others.
The deputy governor has promised to help Kiambu county climb to the top in matters concerning farming that being his career line during his campaigns.
If this is going to pass the county will be among the top in matters concerning horticulture crops production, Nyoro said.
The project is planned to use about fifteen million which will see the whole county get involved in the project.
This project is expected to kick off on May this year as Nyoro said.
"This is vital project expected to kick off on May with s budget of fifteen million.We ask everyone to come in and support the project which will see Kiambu grow," said Nyoro.
