A consultative forum has been formed in Kiambu County to address socio-economic and political issues affecting the county.
According to the County Assembly speaker Mr Gathii Irungu, the forum will chart out modalities to capacity build and empower women and youths.
Members of the forum include the County Governor and his Deputy, the senator, all MPs from the county, Speaker of the County Assembly and his Deputy, Executive Secretaries, Chief Whip and leaders of the majority and Minority of the County Assembly.
Irungu said it would also work towards ensuring that political wrangles witnessed elsewhere do not erupt in the county.
Irungu, who was speaking at his county assembly office on Thursday, said that development of the county could not be fast tracked if wrangles were allowed to continue.
He commended the Kiambu County Government for promoting cohesion among its political class and chief officers, noting that its governance had not been embroiled in issues that would impede development.
