Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi has urged the county government to seek foreign investment in order to advance development in the county.
Speaking to journalists at Kiambu town on Monday, the senator said that foreign investments will see the county realize full development.
Wamatangi said that the county has prime resources like land which can be used to woe investors. He noted that for proper realisation of development, the county will have to work with both local and foreign investors.
The senator asked the William Kabogo led government to formulate investment policies and seek investment and partnerships with investors.
“The county government needs to create development policies and plans and approach local and foreign investors for partnerships and funding,” he said.
The senator said that depending on funds from the national government alone will not help much, adding that investors will be willing to invest in Kiambu if approached.
Wamatangi asked the government to woe investors with incentives for them to support development. He said that the county will have to sell itself to investors as a development hub in order to seek partnerships.
Wamatangi also urged the government to create a friendly environment for business. He said that a secure and friendly business environment will automatically attract investors.
