Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has delivered pipes to Mang'u Ward where residents are experiencing water shortage.
Kabogo said the pipes will connect the several water projects set in the area and supply residents with fresh drinking water.
The jubilant residents were visibly happy and promised to work together with the county government to install the pipes.
The residents have been experiencing water shortage for quite some time now, and are forced to travel for long distances to access the precious commodity.
This too poses a health hazard since the water, mostly drawn from boreholes, is untreated, which may lead to water borne diseases.
According to world vision, about 1,000 children across the world under five years die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene.
