Lari Member of Parliament (MP) Mburu Kahangara has appealed to Kiambu County government to improve health-care facilities and access to such infrastructure for residents in Lari sub-county.
Legislator Kahangara said that health-care is a key sector that the county government should focus on, to help improve and take care of the residents’ lives adding that many residents have no access to quality health services.
“It is the work of county government to make sure that people are getting quality medical services,” said Kahangara.
He said that devolution of health services was meant to ensure that people at the grass-root levels have access to quality health services.
He observed that most health centres in Lari sub-county have inadequate medical facilities and medicine further advising the county government that for proper medical care provision the county must invest in modern equipment and original drugs.
Concerning the county’s health workers’ strike, the MP urged governor William Kabogo to dialogue with the workers to avert future crisis.
He noted that strikes by health workers will continue to affect the common people since they cannot afford treatment in private hospitals like the rich who can easily get treatment from private hospitals.
The MP who opened the refurbished Escarpment dispensary in Lari said he will work with other leaders to promote development in the constituency.
