Former Limuru MP George Nyanja has accused Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi of being an absent leader.
Nyanja said that Wamatangi does not make himself available to the people of Kiambu adding that they only see him on Television. Speaking in an interview with KBC TV on Wednesday, Nyanja said that the people of Kiambu do not know who Wamatangi is.
"One essence of being a leader is being available to them. Interacting with them at the grassroots level. Kiambu residents do not know their senator. He does not avail himself to them," he said.
"Kiambu has an absent senator. The work of the senator is connecting the people to the National government and lobbying for more funds for the county," he added.
Nyanja who had earlier announced that he had suspended his political career said that he will contest for the Senatorial seat having learnt from what made him fail in 2013.
"In 2013 people were told to vote for six piece. This is why I didn’t win the seat." he added.
Nyanja will be going head to head with incumbent Wamatangi in the next year's elections.
