Kiambu County government has introduced a new garbage truck aimed at ensuring the county has a cleaner towns and a healthy environment.
The new truck will be added to the fleet of truck introduced by the County government a few weeks ago and is meant to keep Kiambu Clean and create employment for the youths of Kiambu.
This comes after the County governor William Kabogo introduced garbage bins which was distributed to different Sub Counties and Wards that has resulted to healthy and clean environment in the County.
According to the Kiambu Health CeC Jonah Mwangi, the truck will enable the persistence of maintaining cleanliness in the county and he has urged Kiambu residents to be cautious of their health status in their homesteads and town as well.
Mwangi, who was speaking on Tuesday in Thika town in an event graced by the County governor, said that youths have been unemployed and the introduction of garbage collection truck will help create more employment and keeping Kiambu clean.
He has expressed his concerns with increased number of health related diseases in the county calling on residents to watch their meals and ensure water is treated before consumptions.
The CeC revealed that by the end of the year the every ward in the county will have atleast two trucks to enable the Kiambu County remain clean and create employment to the youths.
He has hailed Kiambu County governor William Kabogo for the constant support in improving and promoting health facilities in the area terming him as a god leader Kenyans should emulate.
He has however promised to take health as a very fundamental aspect in the county and ensure every citizen is living a healthy life.
