The over 100  IDPs said they were shocked to learn that their names were not in the list.

The list was distributed by the Kiambu county commissioner.

“We have gone through the list on the notice board and a lot of our people’s names are missing. Others are finding their names but their ID numbers are incorrect,' their leader Mbugua Njenga said during their peaceful protest on Wednesday.

According to an official, the government will strictly follow the 2008 list submitted after post-election violence.

“The list was written at Kirathimo IDP camp in 2008. It was forwarded to the special programmes ministry and was used by the government to compensate the IDP’s even during Operation Rudi Nyumbani,” Mbugua said.
