The system has seen the Kiambu County grow its capacity and development willpower, reduce waste of resources, improve on service delivery and boost performance in the executive office.

Speaking in Kiambu when he met the ICT Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Kabogo said that Kenyans have a very high expectation of devolution and therefore a need to meet and manage the expectations arises.

The monitoring system at the implementation stage was donated to the Kiambu government by World Bank and reporting is carried out weekly.

Kabogo further indicated that building a culture of performance and results is key to delivering for Kiambu citizens and added that Kenyans have every high expectations of devolution and thus, there is a need to meet and manage the expectations.

According to the County ICT Director Douglas Gicho, the project is able to manage all the budgets and accounts which have seen more efficient use of resources achieving measurably better development results.

“The system has helped the county to hold all officers to account and has had a great impact in service delivery,” Gicho said.

He added that the system monitors the progress of annual development plan to affirm the achievements made by each department.

The governor insists that performance management is achieved when there are indicators and targets measuring the inputs and outcomes of development.
