The judiciary has been accused by some lawyers and police from Kiambu for facilitating crime by being lenient to criminals. Such leniency, they argue, is feeding insecurity in the region.Speaking on condition of anonymity, a number of police officers said that the judiciary was undermining their war on crime by releasing hardcore criminals on bonds.Senior lawyers bemoaned that petty offenders were being slapped with high fines while the hardcore criminals were being treated with kid gloves. The lawyers and police in Kiambu now want Justice David Maraga to transfer the magistrates in the area to other places to create room for new faces.According to The People Daily, the police and lawyers say that the magistrates have been favouring people from certain tribes. This development comes in the wake of rising insecurity in Kiambu
